Experts say that taking a team approach to adopting new habits (or killing bad ones) may be especially effective, because it leverages the built-in support system right within your own home.
We spoke with URMC’s Dr. Anthony R. Pisani (a psychologist with the University of Rochester Institute for the Family) to learn how families can begin (e.g., do you need a formal family meeting, or a signed family “contract” to kick-off?), track (how do you maintain momentum?) and celebrate (or reward!) change – whether it’s limiting sweets, cutting back on TV, or making family meals a priority.
