Haas Chosen to Lead National Pharmacy Organization
Currently President-Elect, Will Advance to President in 2012
Curtis Haas, Pharm.D., director of Pharmacy for the University of Rochester Medical Center, was selected as president-elect of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) and will advance to the office of president in October 2012.
Haas, who joined URMC as director in 2006, has more than 30 years of pharmacy experience including clinical practice, academia, clinical research and specialty residency programs. He previously served as associate professor of pharmacy practice at the University at Buffalo’s School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and as adjunct clinical assistant professor in the departments of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Rochester.
Affiliated with ACCP for more than 30 years, Haas became a full member in 1993 and was recognized as a fellow of the organization in 2004. He has previously served on ACCP’s Board of Regents and as secretary/treasurer and chair-elect of its Critical Care Practice and Research Network, in addition to various committee assignments. Haas has also been president and secretary/treasurer of ACCP’s New York State chapter.
Haas earned a bachelor of science in Pharmacy at the Albany College of Pharmacy of Union University, and his doctor of pharmacy at the University at Buffalo. He has published extensively on clinical drug research and critical care topics.
