Strong Fertility Center Benefit to Aid CARE for Cancer Survivors
Fertility Preservation Program Supports Childbearing After Recovery
Strong Fertility Center of the University of Rochester Medical Center will host the third annual Wine Tasting and Silent Auction 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at ARTISANWorks, 565 Blossom Road, to benefit patients of the Center’s fertility preservation program.
Childbearing After Recovery (CARE) helps couples plan ahead when faced with a cancer diagnosis, so that steps can be taken prior to cancer treatment to help preserve fertility for pregnancy following recovery. Fertility Specialist Adam M. Griffin, M.D., oversees the fertility preservation and egg-freezing program, assisting cancer patients who face treatment choices that can impact fertility.
Proceeds from the Wine Tasting and Auction will help make CARE more accessible to couples. The cost of fertility preservation treatment is often not covered by health insurance plans.
The Wine Tasting and Silent Auction is open to the public and tickets are $35 in advance, $40 at the door. For information or reservations, visit www.fertility.urmc.edu or call (585) 487-3375.
